EHCP Occupational Therapy Assessments & Reports

Our Paediatric Occupational Therapists can provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and reports to support an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment or Annual Review of an existing EHCP. Assessment is individualised to the child or young person and considers their strengths, needs and ability to access, participate and make progress within education and everyday life. Depending on the reason for referral, this may include a detailed occupational history, standardised assessments, sensory processing assessment, clinical observations, school or education-setting observations and liaison with parents, education staff and other professionals. Our reports clearly identify the child or young person’s Occupational Therapy needs, the functional impact of these needs on their access to education, recommended outcomes and the specialist provision required to support them. Where appropriate, recommendations include clear detail regarding the type, frequency, duration and delivery of Occupational Therapy provision, alongside practical strategies that can be embedded within the educational environment. For Annual Reviews, we can also consider progress against existing outcomes and provision and make recommendations regarding any ongoing or changing Occupational Therapy needs.

Occupational Therapy Assessments for SEND Tribunal

Our experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapists can provide independent, highly detailed Occupational Therapy assessments and reports for SEND Tribunal proceedings, ensuring that the child or young person’s needs, functional participation and required Occupational Therapy provision are clearly identified and evidenced.

Where appropriate, assessments can incorporate an Ayres Sensory Integration® approach, alongside functional assessment, clinical observations, standardised assessment tools, school or education observations, review of existing documentation and liaison with the family and professionals involved.

Our reports aim to provide a clear understanding of the child or young person’s strengths and needs, the functional impact of their difficulties, the support and intervention required, and measurable recommendations for Occupational Therapy provision. Where relevant, recommendations can support consideration of outcomes and provision within an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
