Intervention
A clear understanding of individual strengths and needs
Occupational Therapy intervention at Connect usually follows a comprehensive assessment, allowing therapy to be developed around a clear understanding of the child or young person’s individual strengths and needs.
Meaningful therapy goals are created collaboratively with the young person, their family and, where appropriate, their education setting, ensuring intervention focuses on the areas of everyday life that matter most.
Each intervention plan is individualised, with sessions typically lasting one hour and adapted according to the young person’s presentation, engagement and progress. Intervention is regularly reviewed by the Occupational Therapist, with goals, strategies and recommendations adapted as needs, environments and priorities change.
Following a block of intervention, progress is reviewed and further recommendations are provided regarding ongoing therapy, strategies, environmental support or next steps, depending on the individual’s needs.
